MPVR Hosts Westville Girls for Work Experience
Empowering Future Accountants T-A-N-N-A
This week, MPVR had a great opportunity to work with a group of bright young ladies from Westville Girls’ High School, TANNA (Tiisetso, Alondwe, Ntokozo, Natania, Azande) for their grade 11 Work Experience Program. They were introduced by our manager, Hayley, who recognized their passion for accounting, money, and making things balance.
“Accounting puts the A in Plan A”
This work experience program gave the girls more insight into the workplace environment, working as a team, and how to communicate effectively in a high-pressure auditing environment. When the girls approached us with a request to job shadow our remote offshore auditors, we were thrilled, as we also have the ACA training program to train young people to become aspiring accountants and offshored auditors.

On the first day, the girls met some of our leadership team and received an in-depth analysis of auditing and what the future holds for them as they consider this exciting career path. On the second day, after they had done their “fit-check” video for instagram (fit-check refers to checking out and showcasing one’s outfit… here they were making sure they were dressed professionally for their work experience day), they were introduced to new, modern software and got involved in the bookkeeping side of things.
“i never knew accounting could be so interesting”

We ensured the girls were well-equipped with enough coffee and laughs to get them through their work experience.
Here’s what the girls had to say:
- “We got exposure to the accounting industry which we have not had before”
- “I feel excited to become a part of the industry in the future”
- “We were given insight into the various career paths that we can take once we leave school”
- “We were reminded that we can take our time and not rush into any career choices if we are uncertain”
- “They taught us the value of teamwork and communication in the workplace”
At MPVR, we’re passionate about nurturing the next generation of accounting talent. We were incredibly impressed by Tiisetso, Alondwe, Ntokozo, Natania, and Azande’s enthusiasm and dedication during their work experience program. We believe this program provided valuable insights into the world of auditing and accounting. We wish them all the best in their future career paths, and we look forward to potentially crossing paths with them again someday. The MPVR doors are always open to aspiring accountants who share our commitment to excellence.
